Executive Chef Dieter Max Blosel

The Schmankerl Stube Bavarian Restaurant is pleased to announce the appointment of Dieter Max Blosel as Executive Chef, according to Charles Sekula, President.

"After a long, drawn-out immigration process, we are pleased to welcome Chef Blosel. I want to take this opportunity to thank Rita Downs of Congressman Bartlett's office, as well as the help of long-time employee, Diana Collins," Mr. Sekula said.

"Chef Blosel brings years of European culinary experience to Hagerstown. His long-awaited arrival is the perfect way for us to begin our second decade of service to the community," he added.

A native of Hersbruk, Germany, Herr Blosel, received his chef's certificate in 1989, after training at the Sporthotel Rosenhalm/Scheidegg in Germany. From 1990 to 1997, he served as chef at a number of prominent restaurants, hotels, resorts and cruise ships throughout Germany and Austria. Most recently he was employed at the Hotel Alpina in Austria.

Herr Bosel's new duties at Schmankerl Stube include coordinating the activities and direction of cooks and other kitchen personnel, planning recipes and menus, as well as helping to ensure strict adherence to food preparation and health sanitation guidelines.

The Schmankerl Stube Restaurant, serving satisfied diners since 1988, is located in the heart of Hagerstown's Arts and Entertainment District, at 58 South Potomac Street. For more information, or to make reservations, call 301-797-3354.
